Kids Speech Language and Literacy offer speech pathology in Ryde NSW. Our clients work with our speech professionals, Michele and Selina.
Selina graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 1998. She worked in England for a couple of years before returning to Sydney and worked for many years in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. In this role, Selina supervised graduate speech pathologists and convened the It Takes Two to Talk parent programs. She has worked with translators to get a better understanding of the language development of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Selina is highly experienced in stuttering treatment using the Lidcombe Program. She has also successfully treated children with speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, delayed language development, and early primary school language issues.
Selina is a local Ryde mum with three children who attend school in the area.
Michele graduated with a Master of Speech Pathology in 2004. She worked in a variety of early intervention and school-based services in both not for profit and private practice settings. Michele has a special interest in school-age literacy and has undertaken extensive training in a variety of evidence-based programs and practices to support students with oral language, reading, spelling and writing difficulties. She continues to work across a variety of literacy-based services deepening her understanding and intervention methods in improving students reading and spelling. Michele has also successfully treated preschool and school-age children with speech sound disorders.
